Hello….Long time no blogging…

Hello my loves! It’s been a long time since I blogged about anything and I have been pretty busy graduating and getting my bachelors degree in Communications Marketing. I also have a 1-year-old daughter and I have been looking for a job! I haven’t found a job yet but I am not giving up hope. Anyway, on to some beauty news!!! If, you remember from my last few posts about shopping my stash, that is exactly what I’ve been doing. I bought some new things here and there but nothing major. I will post a “hiatus haul” in a few days. I have tons of new things to post about. I used up a few things and discovered a new-found love in a Chanel palette I bought about 6 years ago!!! I know, I know that’s a long time but there is more where that came from but, I will be sure to keep you updated.

My Makeup Inspiration!

I LOVE RIHANNA. I love her fashion and makeup. When I look for makeup looks I tend to get my inspiration from what Rihanna is wearing. This picture is about two years old but I just found it and I love it. I’m not a wearer of eyeshadow but she makes me want to wear some just for this look. For an everyday look I would wear a navy blue eyeliner to take the place of the blue shadow.  Who is your makeup inspiration?

Product Rave!! Garnier Dark Spot Corrector!!!

Image

I’ve always been a fan of Garnier’s hair shampoos and conditioners. I though why not give their skincare a try. I jump for joy and scream YES!!! This product really works!!! I finally found something that is not a waste of money. I’ve been going through a rough battle with dark spots (acne marks) on my cheeks. I had a purge period after using a retinol treatment. I just could not take it anymore. I was breaking out left and right, up and down. I never had bad skin to begin with I just wanted better skin. You know the saying “If ain’t broke don’t fix it. I should have took heed to that saying. Anyway, my rant about retinol will be in another post…..

Company Claims: “Garnier Skin Renew Clinical Dark Spot Corrector reduces the appearance of dark spots caused by aging, repeated environmental exposure, hormonal fluctuations, and even past acne damage. Skin Renew Clinical Dark Spot Corrector is powered by pure, potent Vitamin C to break up dark spots and lift them away”. www.garnierusa.com

Using the Dark Spot Corrector, I saw improvement after about a week and I use it once a day. I use the corrector every morning along with my moisturizer with SPF 15. The corrector can be used as a regular moisturizer but, I have dry, combination skin and this alone just don’t cut it. I’ve been using the Dark Spot Corrector for about a month now and the past two weeks I’ve been using it morning and night. I’ve seen a better improvement of my skin. I have a glow and the spots are getting much lighter. I will give the credit to the natural Vitamin C it has. If you are having some trouble with getting rid of your pesky acne marks give this a try!!! Have you tried this? How did it work for you? Post a comment and let me know what you think?

Cost: $14.99 ( That is how much it cost me) Prices differ at different drugstores.

It’s on sale right now @ Target for $12.74

Product Rave: Peter Thomas Roth Retinol Fusion.

Peter Thomas Roth Retinol Fusion PM- <<<<<<<(Click to buy)

I love this stuff. For a long time I had these tiny, tiny bumps on my forehead. You could not see them unless you were really looking but I could see them and they were on my face!! I used every scrub I could think of to get rid of these annoying things. From St. Ives scrub to the Clarisonic and none of them work for me. I purchased the retinol fusion from Sephora. This baby costs a pretty penny!!

Cost: $65

The company claims: This technologically advanced combination of encapsulated retinol, and vitamins C and E, encourages the skin’s renewal process with prime efficacy. It helps improve skin tone and texture, assists in collagen production, and reduces lines and wrinkles to create a vibrantly youthful and healthy complexion. A dose of moisture minimizes redness and irritation, and mitigates the retinol’s drying effects”.

After, I read the reviews I decided to give it a try. I had nothing to lose, if it didn’t work I could simply take it back to the store and get my money back. After, two nights of using this I could tell a difference in my skin. I’ve been using it for about two weeks now and I can’t say that I’ve seen a difference on my wrinkles because I do not have any HA!!! I’m only 27. Although, I do see a difference in my skin. My skin tone is more even and brighter and most importantly the reason why I wanted to try this in the first place the tiny bumps on my forehead is going away. I see a difference everyday after I use it. It’s not harsh on the skin even with the 1.5% of retinol in it. The vitamin E and C balances it out. The serum feels like an oil but it absorbs quickly. I do not use it with a moisturizer but you can if you want to. I decided not to use a moisturizer because I want to see how it works on its own. It works pretty well, and it keeps my skin in check!

If you try it let me know how it works for you!!

Milani’s LIQUIF’EYE Metallic eyeliner pencil

I know most of us do not go for the brown eyeliner. Black is what I used to go for everyday until I got bored with the stark dark look that black eyeliner gave me all the time. I stopped wearing eyeliner for a long time after I decided to get rid of black,  opted for black mascara only. Until recently, I decided I wanted some liner but not black.  I wanted a softer approach. I went to my local CVS and bought a new liner from Milani. I bought this liner because I thought it would be different because the lable says “Metallic eye liner pencil”. I got home and realized I had some brow liner already and I thought this one would be a dupe for my old liner I used to use called “Teddy” from MAC. I open the package and I was so wrong. First of all there is no shine like I thought it would be.

I looked @ the name and it say’s “Brown”. A plain brown with a “Metallic” label.

A nice soft line on the lid……..

Top-Teddy, Middle-Stubborn Brown, Bottom-Milani
Overall, the liner has alot of pigment, a soft pencil that glides like butta!!! I was hoping to have a Teddy dupe but I don’t. I will still wear it but I like Teddy better because of the Metallic effect it has. Thanks for stopping by!!
